How do I fight nidhogg?
Phase 1 – Normal Dragon
- Avoid the flyover AoE and “Hot Wings” AoE.
- Nidhogg will do a Deafening Bellow every so often throughout the fight.
- Run out of the holes that spawn under the players, as these will do massive damage to any player caught inside of one.
- Run out of Nidhogg’s fire trail.
What happened to Estinien?
Estinien resurfaced and joined Ser Aymeric at the defense of Ishgard. If the Warrior of Light had completed the Dragoon job quest, Estinien acknowledged them as a fellow Azure Dragoon, and was not prepared to cross blades with them again.
How do you unlock nidhogg’s rage?
It can be unlocked by completing the quest Nidhogg’s Rage by Alys in Mor Dhona. The minimum ilvl to enter this fight is i220, but I’d recommend having at the very least an i220 weapon, and having an average item level of i225 before attempting this fight.
Does nidhogg drop a mount?
Once Nidhogg has been defeated, players will earn various high-stat rewards. A guaranteed drop that players will acquire is a Horde Totem.
Does Alphinaud like Estinien?
Alphinaud has a bit of a close relationship with Estinien and vice-versa. Many speculate this is because Alphinaud reminds Estinien of his younger brother. The franchise loves a good surrogate dynamic; just look at Wakka and Tidus from FF10 or Barret and Marley from FF7.
Why is Estinien’s armor red?
During the battle with Nidhogg in the Aery, Estinien’s armor is severely scratched up and loses a horn before it is stained crimson in a shower of the dragon’s spilled blood.

The Minstrel’s Ballad: Nidhogg’s Rage, more commonly called Nidhogg EX, is an Extreme difficulty primal that was added in patch 3.3: Revenge of the Horde. It can be unlocked by completing the quest Nidhogg’s Rage by Alys in Mor Dhona.
