Can you take an AR test at home?
AR tests are now available to be taken at home during school hours. Please have students take AR tests independently at home, without help from others. Younger students may have an option appear to have the questions read out loud to them by the computer. Older students should be familiar with this process.
What is AR testing for books?
The Accelerated Reader program is a computerized program that tests reading comprehension. Students select books on their reading level, read independently, and take an independent comprehension test on the computer. Each book is worth a certain number of points based on its length and reading level.

Teachers or librarians determine your child’s reading level in one of three ways: a Renaissance Star Reading® test, a grade equivalent score from a standardized test, or using their best professional judgment based on their knowledge of your child.
Are AR tests open book?
The student must read the book for comprehension and understanding before taking an AR quiz. They are not allowed to search for answers in the book. Open books are not allowed at the designated quizzing area.
Can you retake AR tests?
Sorry, unfortunately your child cannot retake an AR quiz. Also, AR quizzes cannot be deleted from your child’s quiz history. That is why it is very important that your child fully understands what they read before they take a test on that book.
Can I delete an AR quiz?
On the Quizzes tab, click on the quiz that you would like to delete from the student’s record. 8. Click the [Delete] button.
