Once you see it darken considerably it has been exposed….it should only take 2-3 minutes depending on how strong the sun it. If it is overcast it may take a few more minutes.

The key to drying is that all the water contained in the emulsion must be completely evacuated from the coating. This is generally accomplished by using heat, a dehumidifier, or both. A typical coated screen generally will be dry to the touch after one hour at 70°F (21°C) and relative humidity of 50%.

Can you expose a screen with LED light?
LED light sources that have a high lumen output work best for exposing screens. Assuming you are using a photopolymer emulsion, high output LED lights should work well as a light source when you are building your exposure unit.
Can you over expose a silk screen?
An overexposed screen won’t allow for enough ink through your screen while printing— resulting in prints with poor detail. An underexposed screen means you’ve lost too much emulsion and you’ll be throwing too much ink.
