Is the DAT Hard? The short answer is that, yes, the DAT is reasonably difficult. It is a 5-hour test (including optional, but highly recommended breaks), comprised of four sections: Reading Comprehension – 3 reading passages and 50 questions that test your comprehension and analysis of scientific content.

For these science courses, the average applicant should strive for a 3.4 GPA or higher. Applicants may not score below a C in any required course, end of story.

Can you take the DAT more than 3 times?
You can take the DAT as many times as you need to for a qualifying score. If you have to take it more than three times, you will need to send some proof that you are in school (or similar dental school progress) for the ADA to let you retake a fourth time.
