Is Delrin stronger than acetal?
One of the biggest differences between Delrin® and Acetal is that Delrin® tends to have a significantly higher yield strength and tensile strength. Acetal copolymer tends to have a tensile strength of 9,500 psi, which is impressive for a polymer. Delrin® tops out at 11,000 psi.
What is the difference between Delrin and Delrin AF?
Delrin® AF Blend retains approximately 90% of the mechanical strength and rigidity of Delrin®, but with improved bearing and sliding properties, and almost no ‘slip-stick’ characteristics. Other formulations available are Delrin® 100AF containing 20% Teflon fibers and provides even lower frictional properties.
What is Delrin sheet?
Delrin Sheet is an engineering grade plastic with good fatigue life, high resistance to solvents and chemicals, but low moisture sensitivity. Delrin Sheet is a semi crystalline plastic that benefits engineering applications and is suited to CNC machining.
Is Delrin conductive?
DELRIN: This Dupont acetal (POM) resin is made from polymerized formaldehyde and finds uses similar to nylon. The material is rigid and has excellent mechanical and electrical properties making its use common in appliances and electronics.
What is Delrin good for?
Delrin® is a semi-crystalline engineering-grade thermoplastic widely used to create highly precise parts. In general, Delrin® provides impressive dimensional stability and sliding properties. It’s known for its high strength, wide operating temperature range (-40°C to 120°C), and excellent mechanical properties.
Is Delrin ductile or brittle?
Delrin® homopolymer acetal is the stiffest unreinforced polymer on the market, simultaneously offering high rigidty and ductility. This is achieved by the exceptionally high crystallinity in its structure.
What color is Delrin AF?
dark brown
– The natural color of Delrin AF Blend is dark brown.
Is Delrin a PTFE?
Yes! Delrin Acetal Copolymer is composed of 10-25% of PTFE fluorocarbons dispersed in Delrin Resin. This material possesses strength, dimension, and stability. Making this material one of the most slippery solid metals.
Is Delrin a ESD?
It is available in ESD-Safe delrin plastic. The tip prevents static and mechanical damage. It requires a continuous vacuum source.
Is Delrin an electrical insulator?
What plastic is the best electrical insulator?
Plastics are good electrical insulators (such as phenolic, Ultem®, PEEK).
