Are there different types of Delrin?
General purpose grades of Delrin® are available in several basic melt flow series: 100, 500, 900, and 1700. These differ primarily in melt viscosity with 100 being the most viscous and 1700 the most fluid.
What is Delrin 500P nc010?
Delrin 500P is a medium viscosity acetal homopolymer for injection molding. It has improved processing thermal stability good mechanical properties and low volatile emissions. Information provided by DuPont Performance Polymers.
What temperature can Delrin withstand?
Delrin®’s upper service temperatures are 180° F in open air and 150° F in water and can withstand brief temperature peaks of 250° F.
What Delrin 150?
Delrin® 150 is a high viscosity acetal homopolymer for extrusion processes. It has excellent thermal stability, low die deposit, and enhanced crystallization for low porosity. The material offers very high stiffness, low warpage, and low creep for superior part performance under stress.
What color is Delrin 150?
Delrin® Acetal Sheet Homopolymer Color, Delrin®150, Red, (0.031 in x 24 in x 48 in)
How long does Delrin last?
Delrin has outstanding fatigue resistance, almost indefinitely withstanding cyclic compressive/tensile stressing 5,000 psi. Delrin does not permanently deform or retain dents, and has good impact toughness.
Is Delrin brittle?
Is Delrin Brittle? Because Delrin doesn’t use plasticizing for its toughness, it doesn’t become brittle at low temperatures.
Who makes Delrin?
DuPont
Authentic Delrin® acetal homopolymer is available exclusively from DuPont, authorized DuPont distributors, and from stock shape suppliers in a variety of forms (sheets, rods, tubes).
What Delrin 500?
DELRIN®500AF blend stock shapes are a 20% PTFE fiber filled homopolymer acetal. It is designed for applications requiring low wear and and/or low coefficient of friction against steel, itself, and other plastics. This advanced acetal material uses a combination of PTFE fibers uniformly dispersed in Delrin acetal resin.
Can Delrin be used outdoors?
Delrin® 527UV is typically used for industrial applications exposed to the outdoors in such industries as electronics, communications, transportation, construction and marine.
Is Delrin plastic food grade?
DuPont Delrin® AF Blend, not for food grade applications.
