What size should the CRL be at 11 weeks?
Crown Rump Length Chart
| Gestational Age in Weeks | CRL (mm) | Mass |
|---|---|---|
| 10 weeks | 34 mm | 4 g |
| 11 weeks | 44 mm | 7 g |
| 12 weeks | 57 mm | 14 g |
| 13 weeks | 68 mm | 23 g |
What is a good crown rump length?
Standard embryology texts indicate that the embryonic heart begins to beat at the beginning of the sixth week, when the CRL is 1.5 to 3 mm. Thus it is not surprising that cardiac activity may or may not be identified in normal embryos with CRL less than 2 mm.
How fast does crown rump length grow?
approximately 10 mm per week
The CRL grows approximately 10 mm per week from weeks 8 to 12 and a simple rule to obtain GA is the following: GA (week) = CRL (cm) + 6.5.
Does CRL indicate gender?
Conclusions: Fetal gender may reliably be determined when CRL ≥ 60 mm (gestational age ≥ 12+2). Male gender may already be reliably determined when CRL ≥ 55 mm (gestational age ≥ 12+0). If CRL < 50 mm (gestational age < 11+4) the gender cannot be reliably predicted.
What if CRL is less than expected?
Previous hospital-based studies have shown an association between a smaller than expected CRL and the increased probability of subsequent miscarriage [9, 10, 13]. A hospital-based study in London showed that the pregnancies with a CRL smaller than expected were more likely to be at risk for miscarriages [11].
How accurate is CRL at 12 weeks?
At CRL 55-59.9 mm (gestational age 12+0 to 12+2) the feasibility was 90.5% and accuracy 96.6% (99.1% in male gender vs 93.5% in female gender). At CRL ≥ 60 mm (gestational age ≥ 12+2) the feasibility was 97.4% and accuracy 100.0% (100.0% in male gender vs 100.0% in female gender).
What if my CRL is less than expected?
Can you tell gender by CRL?
Conclusions: Gender can be detected with great accuracy in gestations between 11 to 13 weeks and 6 days by using AGD. CRL and gestational week (GW) were determined as nonsignificant predictors of fetal gender by AGD measurement.
How accurate is CRL measurement?
Up to and including 13 6/7 weeks of gestation, gestational age assessment based on measurement of the crown–rump length (CRL) has an accuracy of ±5–7 days 11 12 13 14. Measurements of the CRL are more accurate the earlier in the first trimester that ultrasonography is performed 11 15 16 17 18.
Can CRL measurement be wrong?
Published data suggest that CRL measurement errors of 2 mm or more are common in clinical practice. Misclassification as small-, appropriate- or large-for-gestational age will commonly occur and affect clinical assessment, patient management and research results.
