How do you drink liquid Movicol?

This product must be diluted before use. Open the bottle and measure 25 ml or five 5 ml teaspoonfuls. Pour the liquid into a glass and then add 100ml (about half a glassful) of water. Stir well until all the liquid has been evenly mixed and the diluted Movicol Liquid Orange flavour solution is clear, then drink it.

Does Movicol go out of date?

Do not use Movicol after the expiry date on the label. Once you have made up Movicol in water, put it in the fridge (2-8°C) and keep it covered. Throw away any solution not used within a six hour period.

Is Movicol a stool softener?

What is MOVICOL Liquid used for? This medicine helps you to have a comfortable bowel movement even if you have been constipated for a long time. It also works in faecal impaction (as diagnosed by your doctor). MOVICOL Liquid is for use in adults and children 12 years of age or over.

Can you mix Movicol with food?

This medicine can be given at any time with or without food. Dissolve the content of each sachet in 62.5 ml (1/4 of a glass) of water and drink. Chronic Constipation: The dose of Movicol Paediatric Plain depends on the age of the child and their response to treatment.

Can I drink expired Dioralyte?

Do not use Dioralyte after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and sachet after EXP. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

When should I take Movicol morning or night?

MOVICOL® does not ferment either, which means less likelihood of gas or bloating/wind. Stimulant laxatives can be effective for the rapid relief of constipation. They cause bowel contraction through nerve stimulation. Tablets are usually taken at night and a bowel movement normally follows about 6-12 hours later.

How do you know if Movicol is working?

Don’t worry – soft stools mean MOVICOL has started to work. However, if the poo becomes very runny or diarrhoea (see Stool Type 7 on the chart in this leaflet), you should stop taking your medicine until the runny poo stops. Then start again using fewer sachets.
