How many days leave for Central Government employees?
A Government employee shall not be granted a leave of any kind for a continuous period exceeding five years. Central Civilian employees are granted 48 days of leave per year in three types. Casual leave for eight days, earned leave for thirty days and 20 half pay leave (commuted as a full day) every year.

How do we calculate earned leave?
The amount of Leave Encashment will be calculated as follows… Basic salary plus Dearness Allowance is divided by 30. The result multiplied with a number of days EL (Maximum 300 days). If any shortfall in EL, then take the Half Pay Leave for calculation subject to not exceeding 300 days.
Can El be combined with HPL?
The staff who have applied for Medical Leave on or after 1.1. 2004 but were sanctioned only EL can apply for conversion of EL to HPL/Commuted leave within 30 days after the notification by the Registrar for this effect.
Can we get salary during child care leave?
